Ringi (稟議) is a Japanese organizational decision-making process in which a proposal is circulated sequentially among relevant stakeholders for approval before a final decision is made. In a ringi system, the applicant submits a proposal, which is reviewed by approvers in turn and ultimately authorized by the designated decision-maker. When a proposal is returned for revision, the flow branches away from the standard sequence.
