A reliability metric indicating the proportion of time a system is in an operational state. It is calculated as MTBF ÷ (MTBF + MTTR), where MTBF is Mean Time Between Failures and MTTR is Mean Time To Repair. When both MTBF and MTTR change by the same factor, the availability rate remains unchanged.
