The process of verifying, upon delivery of ordered software or deliverables, that the functions and requirements specified in the specification document have been correctly implemented. The focus is on verifying that the actual deliverable meets the specification, rather than reviewing cost estimates or progress reports. Proper delivery confirmation ensures that the client receives the quality and functionality agreed upon in the contract.
