A diagram that systematically organizes the causes of a problem or quality characteristic in the shape of a fish skeleton. Also called an Ishikawa diagram after its inventor Kaoru Ishikawa. It is one of the seven QC tools in quality management and is widely used for root-cause analysis and improvement activities.
