A service in which a provider installs and manages servers and communication equipment in its own facilities and rents them to customers. Customers can use a server environment without purchasing equipment or managing facilities, allowing them to focus on operating their business applications. It differs from a housing service, in which the customer owns the equipment and places it in the provider's facility.
