棚卸高
たなおろしだか · Inventory valuation
Also known as: 仕入単価 / 期末棚卸高
The monetary value assigned to goods and materials remaining on hand at the end of an accounting period. Because cost of goods sold is calculated as opening inventory plus purchases minus closing inventory, the method used to value ending inventory (such as using the period-end unit price versus the average unit price) affects both cost of goods sold and profit. When purchase prices are rising, applying the higher end-of-period unit price yields a higher ending inventory value and correspondingly lower cost of goods sold.
