A wireless communication technology for IoT that combines low power consumption with wide-area coverage (Low Power Wide Area). Its defining characteristics are the ability to operate on ordinary batteries for several years or more, and a communication range extending up to several tens of kilometers. Although its data rate is lower than that of Wi-Fi, it is well suited for IoT applications that do not require high-bandwidth transmissions, such as collecting sensor data.
