A pull strategy is a promotional marketing approach in which a manufacturer stimulates end-consumer demand through advertising and mass communication, motivating consumers to seek out the product at retail outlets. Unlike a push strategy, which incentivizes sales channels and distributors, a pull strategy focuses on building brand awareness and desire at the consumer level. Television commercials and social media advertising are classic examples.
