NAT (Network Address Translation) is a technology that converts private IP addresses to global (public) IP addresses and vice versa. Devices on a home or corporate network use private addresses, and the router translates them to a global address when accessing the internet, allowing multiple devices to share a small number of public IP addresses. It is a standard feature of broadband routers.
