An internet advertising method in which promotional emails are sent to recipients who have given prior consent, with content tailored to their interests. Because recipients have actively subscribed, opt-in email advertising tends to achieve higher open and response rates than unsolicited mail. Unlike spam, it is a legally compliant advertising delivery method based on the recipient's consent.
