A marketing concept that describes a product's journey from market introduction to withdrawal in four stages: introduction, growth, maturity, and decline (PLC). Each stage has distinct characteristics in terms of competition, profitability, cash flow, and appropriate strategy. During the growth stage, product improvement and differentiation strategies are typically most effective.
